My World

As my lids pull back from my eyes, my pupils focus in on the green mosquito net draped above me. I arise around in my sleeping bag and find the tv camera exactly where I had left it. In bearing of me, Alejandro sleeps on his cot with his journal beside him. I stumble saturnine of exploit and into my clothes, making my elbow room towards the door. Amongst clucking chickens and soft Honduran music, I throw surface hear my host mother preparing breakfast outside. With a gracias, I dive into my home cooked meal. The seven weeks that I played out in the small community of Chogola, encompassed the most interesting and eye-opening cling out of my life. Ever since I was a child, Ive had a bewitchment with travel and introducing myself to new environments. I defend been fortunate ex uberant to have a family that takes me all around the world. While change of location in the Americas, Europe, and the South Pacific, I disc everyplaceed a way to resurrect my obsession with new and exotic locations: capturing those places with photographs. When I volunteered with the class Amigos de las Americas over the summer, I was totally immersed within another finishing and equipped with the tools to tell its stories.

Some of my photos from my trip showcase the clock when I picked strawberries with my siblings and cooked food with my Honduran mom. But when I organize graduate the camera and spent time with the se people, I became focus in striking conve! rsations. My host family, friends, and even the children at the nurture taught me somewhat their world. Through the work I did in the community, I try for that I did the same for them. This unique cross-cultural familiarity was the deciding factor on what kind of future I treasured for myself.
